Overview

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Embark on a journey of discovery with Science Innovators, an immersive, hands-on program designed to transform students into curious thinkers and problem solvers. This interdisciplinary course bridges physics, chemistry, biology, and environmental science through real-world experiments, project-based learning, and interactive lab sessions. Students will not only learn scientific principles but also apply them through design challenges, model building, and collaborative research projects, fostering a deep appreciation for the scientific method and innovation.


Course Modules

MODULE 1: The Scientific Method & Lab Fundamentals

  • Introduction to hypothesis, experimentation, and analysis

  • Lab safety protocols and equipment handling

  • Data recording, graphing, and presentation skills

  • Project: Designing and conducting a first independent experiment

MODULE 2: Physics of Everyday Life

  • Laws of motion and simple machine construction

  • Energy transformations and renewable energy models

  • Electricity circuits and magnetism demonstrations

  • Project: Build a working wind turbine or solar-powered model

MODULE 3: Chemistry in Action

  • States of matter and phase change experiments

  • Chemical reactions (safe, school-friendly)

  • Introduction to the periodic table and atomic structure

  • Project: Create pH indicators from natural substances

MODULE 4: Biology & Life Sciences

  • Microscope skills: observing cells, bacteria, and plant structures

  • Human anatomy and health sciences

  • Ecology, biodiversity, and environmental interactions

  • Project: Design a terrarium or study local ecosystem

MODULE 5: Environmental Science & Sustainability

  • Climate science and pollution studies

  • Water testing and conservation techniques

  • Waste management and recycling projects

  • Project: School-wide sustainability audit and action plan

MODULE 6: STEM Integration & Innovation

  • Basic robotics and coding for science applications

  • Engineering design challenges

  • Science fair preparation and presentation skills

  • Capstone Project: Student-led inquiry project with presentation


CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion, students receive the Kopal Young Innovator Certificate and a digital badge recognizing their skills in scientific inquiry, laboratory techniques, and innovative thinking.

WHO CAN ENROLL?

  • Sessions: Once a week (2-hour lab/workshop session)

  • Format: 60% hands-on lab work, 30% group projects, 10% theory

  • Lab Access: Fully equipped science laboratory with safety supervision
